The Cabin

The Cabin is a Finnish Log Cabin of considerable charm, set in its own 1.5 acre woodland plot. It is part of the owner's 4+ acre estate of mature woodland and wild valley well away from the owner's property and Little Barn. Reminiscent of Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House In The Big Woods, it epitomises that Back To Nature experience. Offering considerable privacy with its own entrance, high wooden gates, driveway and adjacent parking and enjoys a woodland setting, with the sound of the Red River in the wild valley below, a wildlife haven. There are numerous country and coastal walks to enjoy and it is ideally placed to explore the many coves and beaches a short drive away.

Accommodation

Lounge/Kitchen/Diner

Double french doors open into a comfortable lounge/ kitchen/ diner with a lofty beamed ceiling which has a large fan plus lighting useful in hot summer months. There are natural log walls, a cream two seater settee and tub chair, TV/DVD player, radio/CD player, bookcase and tourist information, occasional tables, large oriental carpet, electric N/S heating and log effect fire. The modern fitted kitchen has limed oak units, a wall cupboard, an electric cooker with 2 ring hob plus larder fridge and microwave and the usual kitchen appliances. There is a pine dining table and Eames chairs.

Lobby/Single Bedroom

From the lounge, two doors open into a lobby useful for coats boots etc; and then into a pretty single bedroom with 3ft single bed, chest of drawers and hanging space with a window onto shrubbery plus venetian blind.

Double Bedroom

Another door from the lounge opens into the double bedroom with an attractive antique repro brass bed and good quality firm mattress. It has an antique French mirrored wardrobe with large draw under, a small dressing table, an electric panel heater and a window with woodland views.

Shower Room

Modern high-spec shower room with corner shower, wall-hung toilet and wash-basin.

Outside Facilities

The Cabin has a large decked area for relaxing and alfresco dining. A purpose made shared building, adjacent to Little Barn, houses a washing machine & small freezer. Guests are free to explore the 4 acre woodland gardens.
