It has been thoughtfully designed and fitted throughout to a high standard, providing a cosy and light holiday home. There are glorious views over the sub-tropical gardens and wild valley to the sea and Mount's Bay, with numerous country and coastal walks to enjoy. It is ideally placed to explore the many coves and beaches a short drive away.
History
This unique and interesting old building (constructed of mainly found stone) has a wide doorway and buttress (there were two at one time). It originally had a cobbled floor with hewn granite feeding troughs and would have been used mostly as housing for cattle and horses with the fodder store above. Dating from as early as the 1700s, it has a long history of agricultural use, most recently by the present owner who used it as a milking parlour for her Jersey house cow, whilst a pair of barn owls nested in the roof space. Great care has been given to its sympathetic restoration and the barn owls have been rehoused.
