Five Luxury Self-catering Holiday Homes Mount's Bay Cornwall

Midway between Penzance and St Ives near the ancient village of Ludgvan, overlooking Mount's Bay and five minutes drive from its many magnificent beaches and coves, are five exceptional detached self-contained luxury holiday homes.

St Michael's Farmhouse sleeps 6+ and has stunning sea views overlooking Mount's Bay and St Michael's Mount (NT). A spacious period house especially magical at Christmas or for out of season breaks, with a log burner and full central heating. The house is separated from the other properties by a small country road. Guests may enjoy a tour of the owner's gardens.

The Little Barn, The Cabin, The Tea House and The Shepherds's Hut sleep 2-3+ with unique features and stunning location on the edge of a wild valley. A 4+ acre estate comprises a sub-tropical woodland garden of terraced lawns with many rare and exotic plants from around the world, a large lily pool with BBQ area and seating, a grotto and two impressive standing stones. Within the wild valley there is mature woodland with wildlife ponds, a stream and waterfalls. The Little Barn overlooks the gardens with distant sea views, The Cabin enjoys a woodland setting in an elevated but sheltered position, The Tea House overlooks the lily pond and wild valley beyond and The Shepherds Hut is set in our very own cider orchard. Not surprisingly this is a designated area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Boat

Set apart and unseen from each other, private and secluded, a haven of tranquility behind high gates and thick hedges, they offer a rare opportunity to experience a peaceful retreat in which to relax and unwind from the cares of the modern-day world. A wildlife haven, the garden was created by the owner, a local artist, who lives in a nearby property and encourages guests to explore and enjoy its many delights.

Here was the freedom I desired - long sought for, not yet known. Freedom to write, to walk, to wander; freedom to climb hills, to pull a boat, to be alone.

The words of Daphne du Maurier have a special resonance for all those who visit this part of Cornwall. This is a land apart - a land of surprising contrasts: of awesome dramatic cliffs and tranquil river valleys; of wide open spaces and intimate sheltered harbours; of deserted beaches and picturesque fishing villages; of surging seas and meandering rivers. With barely fifteen miles separating the north and south coasts, it is a region criss-crossed with country lanes, offering unexpected delights round every corner. This is the Cornwall of myth and legend - a secret unspoilt paradise - and we welcome you.Sue Adey
